During Milan Design Week, the ISSEY MIYAKE flagship store in Milan is holding the special exhibition “In the Making” from Sunday, September 5. IM MEN’s PAINTING KNIT is introduced for the first time at the exhibition.

For this special exhibition, IM MEN collaborated with Italian entrepreneur and art director Fabio Bellotti, and created PAINTING KNIT inspired by his paintings. Bellotti and his textile company have worked with ISSEY MIYAKE the brand since the 1970s, and provied quality printed fabrics for many of its collections. 

Celebrating the relationship with Bellotti developed since then, this series is based on his paintings REAL WOMEN which portrays both women's strength and subtlety as figures not bound by time. Finely knit on a jacquard machine, the garment uses seven colors of soft ramwool to bring out the depth in Bellotti's artwork.
